Hours Calculator FAQ

How do I use this hours calculator?

Enter your clock in time, clock out time and break minutes for each day. The calculator adds the week and shows total hours, decimal hours, breaks, overtime and estimated pay.

What is the difference between hours and decimal hours?

Hours and minutes show time in normal clock format, such as 7h 30m. Decimal hours show the same time as a number, such as 7.50 hours.

Can this work hours calculator subtract lunch breaks?

Yes. Add the break length in minutes for each day. The calculator subtracts break time from the shift before adding the daily and weekly totals.

Does this time card calculator handle overnight shifts?

Yes. If the clock out time is earlier than the clock in time, the calculator treats the shift as ending the next day.

Is this official payroll software?

No. This is a simple free time card calculator for estimates and personal planning. Use your employer, contract or payroll system for official time and wage calculations.

Can I estimate my weekly earnings?

Yes. Enter an hourly rate and the calculator estimates pay using your recorded hours and selected overtime settings. Confirm official pay using your employer’s payroll rules.
