What is an HTTP header checker?
An HTTP header checker shows the response headers sent by a website before the browser renders the page. Headers can reveal status codes, redirects, server software, content type, caching behavior, CORS rules and security policy hints.
What headers should I look for?
Useful headers include Cache-Control, Content-Type, Location, Strict-Transport-Security, Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy and Permissions-Policy.
Why does this tool block private targets?
This tool makes a server-side request, so it is limited to public website URLs. Blocking private hostnames, IP addresses and custom ports helps prevent abuse and keeps the checker focused on normal website debugging.
Can this checker follow redirects?
Yes. It follows up to 5 redirects and displays the redirect chain with status codes and location headers.
Does it download the full web page?
No. It starts with a HEAD request. If a server does not allow HEAD, it uses a tiny GET fallback to collect the headers.
Why do some sites show fewer headers?
Some servers hide or omit certain headers, and CDNs may alter headers depending on caching, bot protection, region or protocol.
